Reds Trio Among Leaders in Ongoing MLB All-Star Voting
With the 2024 MLB All-Star Game less than a month away, fan voting is still underway — and three Cincinnati Reds players are gaining traction in the early returns.
Shortstop Elly De La Cruz is leading the way for Cincinnati, currently sitting 4th in the National League voting at his position. Only Francisco Lindor, Mookie Betts, and Trea Turner rank ahead of him. De La Cruz has earned 312,538 votes, making him the Reds’ top vote-getter — a nod to his standout season so far.

Outfielder Austin Hays, despite missing a significant portion of the year due to injury, has made an impression when healthy. He ranks 20th among NL outfielders with 128,220 votes.
Catcher Jose Trevino is the third Red to break into the top 10 at his position. He sits 8th among catchers with 111,343 votes.
The All-Star voting process has evolved from its old format. Now split into two phases, phase one — which runs through June 26th — determines the top two vote-getters at each position (and six for outfielders), who will then move on to phase two. That next round will decide the starting lineup for each league.
Final rosters, including pitchers and reserves, will be rounded out by player voting and selections made by the commissioner’s office. The complete All-Star rosters will be unveiled on July 6th on ESPN, with additional injury replacements and pitcher substitutes to follow.
