Cincinnati Reds’ top pitching prospect Chase Burns is reportedly being promoted from Double-A Chattanooga to Triple-A Louisville, a move confirmed by MLB.com’s Jonathan Mayo.
Burns rose 12 spots in MLB Pipeline’s latest top 100 rankings in May, landing at No. 11.
On June 7, he delivered a dominant performance for the Lookouts, throwing seven scoreless innings and striking out six. Over eight starts and 42 innings with Chattanooga, Burns compiled a 6-1 record, a 1.29 ERA, a 0.714 WHIP, and recorded 55 strikeouts against just four walks.
The second overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, Chase Burns, was promoted to Double-A Chattanooga on April 21 after making three starts for the High-A Dayton Dragons, where he recorded a 3.09 ERA and 20 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings.
A standout at Wake Forest, Burns didn’t pitch professionally earlier in 2024. He made his pro debut in April, tossing four scoreless innings with six strikeouts.
