Following his unexpected absence from the 250 Moto 2 at the most recent round of the Pro Motocross Championship, Chance Hymas has provided an update on his condition and possible return timeline.

The Team Honda HRC rider was notably missing from the start gate in the second 250 moto, leaving fans and commentators speculating about the reason. Hymas has since confirmed that his absence was due to an electrolyte deficiency, which developed as a result of an illness he’s been battling throughout the week leading up to the race.
In a social media post released earlier today, Hymas addressed his situation:
“Tough weekend for me. I’ve been sick all week and just didn’t have the strength to go out for Moto 2. After Moto 1, the team and I decided it was best to sit out the second moto due to an electrolyte imbalance that was affecting my performance and safety. I’m working with the doctors and my team to bounce back as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone for the support.”
Despite showing grit in Moto 1, where he lined up and gave it his all, it was clear Hymas wasn’t at 100%. The decision to sit out Moto 2 was made to prioritize his long-term health and recovery, a choice supported by his team and medical staff.
While Hymas did not provide an exact date for his return, he assured fans that he is already focused on getting healthy and back on the bike. The hope is that he’ll be ready for the next round, but the final call will depend on how quickly his body responds to treatment and recovery protocols.
