The momentum has been building for Michigan football on the recruiting trail, picking up two commitments over the past week.
Despite Michigan coaches not being able to go out on the road recruiting for a short time, the Wolverines have been aggressive with their apporach and it has allowed them to close with Matt Ludwig and Mason Bonner last week.
Now, the Wolverines have made the final group for two of their top targets in the 2026 class, Malakai Lee and Titan Davis.
Latest on two elite targets for Michigan football
Lee is a 6-foot-6, 318-pound offensive tackle. He’s out of Hawaii and is ranked No. 139 overall. Michigan is the crystal ball leader right now, according to 247 Sports,

Winning his commitment won’t be easy, though. Texas, Alabama, and Georgia are the other contenders that made the final cut.
However, the coaching staff has been growing a strong rapport with Lee and Michigan has the final official visit, which doesn’t always mean much, but can be a good sign. It’s at least a chance to close.
Alabama and Texas will get visits on May 30th and June 6th. Michigan football will host Lee on June 20th. Michigan is in a good spot here, especially with USC getting eliminated, but this recruitment wil be hotly-contested.
Four-star recruit Titan Davis, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive lineman, is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2026 class. He’s out of St. Louis, Missouri, and the list of teams in the top four is just as impressive as it is with Lee.
USC and Penn State each made the cut. So did Alabama, along with Michigan. Davis is ranked 98th overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. There haven’t been any crystal ball projections yet. Alabama does lead slightly, 20-17 percent over Michigan, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but this is another recruitment that won’t be easy to win.
The Wolverines have as good a shot as anyone though. They just need to keep closing.
