Chase Sexton Sets His Sights on the 2025 Supercross Title

“I’m Not Letting Go”

With just two rounds left in the 2025 AMA Supercross 450SX Championship, Chase Sexton has made his intentions clear — he’s not backing down. Speaking ahead of the critical Round 16 in Denver on May 3, the determined Honda HRC rider declared his focus on the title, despite trailing Cooper Webb by 12 points.

“We’ve come too far to let this slip,” Sexton said. “There’s still a path to the championship, and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got to take that number one plate.”

After 15 grueling rounds of elite competition, Cooper Webb holds the lead with 325 points. Sexton, sitting in second with 313 points, knows the margin for error is razor-thin. With 26 points available per race (for a win), there’s a maximum of 52 points left on the table — and that keeps Sexton firmly in the hunt.

While Webb’s recent win in Pittsburgh was a powerful statement, Sexton remains confident. His season has been marked by consistent podium finishes and high-level intensity, and he’s shown he can match — and even beat — Webb when it matters.

“It’s about consistency and intensity now,” Sexton emphasized. “I know what I need to do, and I trust my team and preparation.”

Sexton’s path to the title isn’t easy. To win the championship outright, he likely needs to win both remaining rounds — in Denver and Salt Lake City — and hope that Webb finishes second or lower. If they tie in points, the title could go to Sexton based on race wins, where he currently holds an advantage.

It’s a high-stakes scenario, but the 24-year-old isn’t shying away from the pressure. He’s been in tight battles before, and this championship opportunity represents a defining moment in his career.

While Sexton and Webb share a competitive rivalry, there’s mutual respect between the two riders. They’ve pushed each other to new limits all season, trading wins and podiums in a battle that has captivated fans and raised the bar for Supercross excellence.

As Round 16 approaches, fans, analysts, and fellow riders will be watching every move. With adrenaline running high and the championship on the line, Sexton’s “never say die” attitude is exactly what makes this sport so thrilling.

All attention now turns to Empower Field at Mile High this Saturday, where Sexton’s words will meet the track.

Will his determination translate to victory and close the gap? Or will Webb hold steady under pressure?

One thing is certain — Chase Sexton isn’t letting go.
